Hmmm... I never did like the Lambrettas. No offence,
but they are kinda wimpy, man. The Chords were much
better. Though when I saw them at the Lyceum in '79
and Billy's guitar strap come off, he just stood there
looking like a complete idiot hoping a roadie would
come and strap it back on... very embarrassing.
My personal revival faves are Guns For Hire, The Nips
(loosely connected I know), The Low Numbers (again
loose but "Keep It In Touch" is a classic. Anyone ever
seen a picture?), The Chords and ... The Jelly... (har
har).. Some of the Jolt stuff is OK.
Anyone familiar with Mark Hollis' band the Reaction?
The pre- Talk Talk version of "Talk Talk" is killer.
I always bring up the Gorillas but I wonder how come
the revivalists never picked up on them? Any of you
oldies out there have an opinion or am I the oldest
fucker of the bunch of ya's?
Watch it now... it's all in good fun.
