Band names

Hi -
how does one go about finding-out if a band name has been used before?
Is there some kind of 'registry'?
(Brian??)

I'm forming a band and am tossing a few ideas about for names...
Anyone know if there's ever been:

The Bluebirds,
The Outsiders,
The Beaux,
The Strangers,
The Back Door Men......

?
