Okay, I don't think Nirvana were a Mod band, but I'm a big fan of theirs and
I found this terribly disturbing when I ran across this article...I think
they deserve better then this!
SMELLS LIKE NIRVANA TRIBUTE
Nirvana will be getting a tribute next spring, courtesy of Cleopatra
Records. CDNow reports that Sex Pistols' Steve Jones and rap
producer/musician Ronnie King will produce six tracks each for the upcoming
disc. Work on the album started this week in Los Angeles. So far,only one
band, punk rocker outfit Total Chaos,is confirmed for the album. They'll be
covering "Breed" from Nevermind and are set to start
recording today, and may use keyboards for some parts of the song.
Meanwhile, King is assembling an all-star rap entourage to lay down
tracks for the recording. He's considering MC Lyte and Big Syke, who is a
member of the late Tupac's group, Thug Life. Although a song has yet to be
chosen, King says he's contemplating making a rap out of "Smells Like Teen
Spirit."
What are these people thinking?
