I would like to put in one vote for San Francisco as best place to be MOD in the US. There�s plenty of Mod or 60�s oriented clubs to go to throughout the week. It�s very scooter friendly, being relatively compact (what it is, like 7 miles �round), so a 15-minute ride can get from one end to the other it seems. The weather is conducive to a variety of outfits, never to hot or cold. 2 scooter shops (as far as I know, unless there is a third?), tons of shopping; high-end retail to decent vintage. Good record shopping � no real bargains to be had, but Amoeba boast one of largest selections I�ve seen in one place. To top it of some of the most beautiful scenery in the US. Sure a one-bedroom apartment in a decent part of town will cost you $1800 per month, but no one said being mod was a bargain.
