Well...

Without doubt, Los Angeles has to be one of the (if not thee) greatest
cities I've ever been to in my life... a place where the simple folk may
think pretension and money are the kings...

This may be true... but the thing that sets LA apart from all the other
big cities I've been to is that in LA there is an honesty to the
people. A sense of knowing and freely admitting to the fact that they
all want to be rich and famous... a place where dreams can truly come
true if you have the drive and creativity it takes to make it happen.

In all other places the dream of wealth and success is there... but the
notion of letting people in on the fact that you want it all is looked
down upon... I found that in LA it is not even needed to be
discussed... it is the overall theme of the city of Lost Angels...

The hope of many a dreamer, leaving their little safety nets of rural
America, Canada, England or Latvia for that matter to head to the place
that can make or break you. The hope that maybe you can be the one to
break the odds and be that rags to riches story you heard about on
ET... There is that one common bond with the people I saw and met in
LA... the hope and dream that they can become the centre of attention
with the highest house on those hills that look down on the rest of the
dreamers who have yet to see their dreams come true...

For all those that think that LA is just a fake plastic reality and that
nobody is real there... listen up... I've been everywhere and to every
major city in the world and I have never been anywhere that is as real
and honest as LA... they know money rules the way and they make no
qualms about wanting to line their pockets with as much as the can shake
from the tree... GOD BLESS LA!

So with that all said I would like to thank some listers who came out to
the various LA venues to hear me play my brand of music... A very big
right on goes to Carolina (Dedismo!) from San Diego who came all the way
up to LA and hung out with me all night... it was a real joy to finally
meet her... she is one very special person... Thanks must also go to
Yosi who really made my set at Cafe Bleu a joy by dancing up a storm for
the whole thing... Cheers to Miss Tyrah... (Ta-rah) hahaha! who
introduced herself to me by kicking me in the leg... She is a very
lovely girl with an incredible fashion sense... she has a very decent
sense of humour too...! Thanks to Terry of SOLID again for being a gent
by commending me on my set at The RUBY on Hollywood Blvd. for the
Halloweenie party... A big damn I lost your number Miss Moore... to
Tracy who I (sadly) never got to meet when I was in LA... and a special
thanks to the promoters at CAFE BLEU, Piper and Shalyce for taking very
good care of me when I was out there. A big big big thank you also must
go to MICK MARSH DJ at Goldfingers for truly being a great person to
spin records with and hang out with after... Any DJ's going to LA in the
near future should contact me for Mick's email address to maybe get a
chance to spin with him... he is such a nice guy and he knows his tunes
too... Bless 'em all.

A big fuck you goes to JASON (the biggest ego in the world) of SHOUT in
LA for being such a knob at the Halloween party and crying the blues
because I was stealing your thunder... It may help if you bought some
new records Jason... Your set sounded like our club did 5 years ago...
Stop flogging that dead Horse... It's too bad you wouldn't have let DIA
and I spin together later in the night... we may have actually gave the
paying customers a night to remember...

Well... in closing I would again like to say thanks to the groovers in
LA who made my trip very enjoyable indeed... and
LOOK OUT CHICAGO!!! here I come.

Chicago... November 18th at Club Foot to celebrate the birth of Mr. Ben
Pirani the swankiest straight edge mod on planet earth... I look forward
to drugging you silly with all kinds of pills and stuff. hahahaha!

Are any of you besides the Chicago people going to be there for that
show??? Let me know...

Cheers and Mod Bless America,

Davy Love,
TORONTO!
