My freshman year of college, I did a beat generation paper, and I found a
fabulous book: Its by one of Neal Cassidy's, Carolyn Cassidy, and its called
something like "Off the Road: my life with Neal Cassidy and Jack Kerouac".
I'm not sure how much beat slang is in there, but it is supposedly a really
great semi-biography. There are a lot of great ties with "On the Road" in
it, too. I used it as a huge resource for my paper. On that note, a movie
to find would be "Pull My Daisy". Its rather strange, and sort of a home
video, but its got Neal Cassidy, Jack Kerouac, Ginsberg, etc. in it. It was
filmed in SF, I think, and it probably has a lot of slang in it. Michael D
can probably fill you in on more; he's sort of a beat connoisseur.
