I bought the new Small Faces live on the BBC CD yesterday (well actually A
friend bought it, long story). VERY solid good stuff. You can actually hear
Mac's organ on stuff too, unlike alot of the early studio stuff, like
"Understanding" for instance. Liner notes by John Hellier to boot. Good
scene indeed., Also bought a CD boot of a 1965 French only lp on Barclay by
a bumch of U.K sessionmen (Jimmy Page, Bobby Graham et al) called The London
All Stars. Very cool kitsch instro numbers like "Watermelon Man","Mexican
Shuffle","Night Train" and a Les Redd composition called "Spanish Armada"
with some licks Les later used on the "Girl On A Motorcycle" soundtrack.
Great for fans of "The Sound Gallery" or "The Easy Project".
Speaking of....I'm looking for a Rambo doll to ritualisticaly kill in front
of the "Get Carter" shrine currently taking up a quarter of my living room
(tis no joke, I'm for real). I suppose it's illegal to ship explosives, so
there's not much I can send to Miss Jenn to hurl at the set. Though we can
all do them a favor by avoiding it, like "The Avengers" movie or "The Saint"
movie, yes?
I had a weird dream on saturday. I went to a wedding and all the Insomniacs
were there, there was a sitar and tabla player during the cocktail hour then
Joe Satriani played spy music. Owed to the dip.....
