Here I've been refraining from posting to the list as I owe about 14 of
you a personal e-mail first, but I wanted to add my good word for the
Hipsters crowd (Anja, Tony & Mike very nice to meet you all) as well as
the N.R. Set who were last seen (by me) doing their thing with the JTQ
and have come a long way since then! By all means do see this band
every chance you get, it was well worth the 4+ hours of driving. Will we
see them in L.A. or will I have to go to S.F. next?? Time will tell.
(yes, the inclusion of the song "fool killer" in the set list was a
pleasant surprise for this excitable young lister.) Also, everyone
should make it out to Hipsters even if you have to drive crosscountry or
take a plane to do it -- what a nice little club, and you can't beat the
DJs can you? Even antisocial types such as I could sit in musical bliss
(and probably those dancing ones had a blast as well, right? .. !)
Well, I've sufficiently showered my praises now --- perhaps someone will
fill me in on any good LIVE music coming through L.A. in the upcoming
weeks so I can stop living in the past, ha , ha.

P.S. things I'm listening to right now -- april march & los cincos s/t
album, everything by stereolab (sorry), b. auger & the trinity "mod jazz
years", the stairs "mexican r'n'b," big john patton "understanding" and
Biet Het volume--whatever one it is with the Clungels song Tony spun on
Saturday night, Alright!
