Thanks Anja for saying it! I scan the digests for subject lines that aren't
RE: RE: RE: RE:. or consist of one line.... Postings having anything to do
with 60's music, clothes, media, or other useful and interesting tidbits
that reflect the original idea of the Modslist referenced in the very
well-written FAQ are few and far between these days. I think that's
disrespectful, and disappointing, to those of us that joined for that
original idea and make efforts to keep it relevant.

but the main thing is that the listers least respect each other. >>

I agree with Tony. Some fights on this list have been funny to me only when
the fighters are actually knowledgeable and clever. I've been on Bomplist
for a year or so and most of its members seem consistently well mannered,
interesting, articulate, and very rarely flame one another. Sure,
discussions of 60's country, trash/garage rock and punk crop up often, but
no one there gives a shit about 'Mod' and all its fascist little trappings -
pure passion about 60's music/culture and related seems to be the only
blurry boundary there, and if it's crossed once in a while that's OK.

AH! Then Sean chimed in:

A big thanks to these listers, including Bill, for speaking up themselves
instead of crying to Brian about moderation. I also think Davy's starting
another list is a fine idea, seeing as how there seem to be so many people
here that don't find Davy's rants, humorous intent or not, very amusing. I
think it's considerate of him to do that, and all of you non-Davy fans can
quit your bitching now.

Thanks for the fine start, Sean, and maybe Erik Larsen will join us on this
one? I am a Gerry Andersen devotee, and my fave GA series honor goes to the
ever styling JOE 90. My boyfriend would kill for JOE 90's wardrobe - in a
non-puppet size, of course. I also love Captain Scarlett, especially the
theme song......Has anyone ever seen the Thunderbirds are Go! pilot movie?
Dreadfully long and the plot loses you after 45 minutes, but it's worth it
for the hilarity of the SUPER long, drawn-out launch sequences (highly
trained professionals spent tons of money and time on these!), the GREAT
late 60's space age Eames-like modular furniture, sleek uniforms, awesome
hairdos, and of course the famous dream sequence at the space nightclub -
featuring CLIFF RICHARDS, tiny dollhouse Vox amps, and the way creepy
surreal music 'video' it turns into with the pop tune by CLIFF RICHARDS
JR.!!! It's also scary to compare a lot of GA's puppets look like famous
celebs (many were modeled after certain people, and it's fun to guess who!)
Again like UFO, this shit has 'Lost in Space' and 'Star Trek' whipped in the
60's coolness department.

Another list question: Any modslisters have a radio show? Better yet, any
with a radio show that's Web-cast? Curious..............
