RE: Jeff's Small Faces BBC question:Strange Fruit has issued a 21 track
Small Faces live on the BBC CD, Rockit Scientist has it!

My fave punk rock movie is "Ladies And Gentlemen The Fabulous Stains" where
this awful U.S punk gal trip tour with two bands, a dreadful dinosaur rock
band (fronted by Fay Weeble of The Tubes) and The Looters a fake Brit punk
band put together for the film featuring Ray Winstone on lead vocals, Steve
Cook on guitar, Paul Simonon on bass and Paul Cook on drums. They were
miming numbers by Cook and Jone's then band The Professionals. Brilliant!
Ray Winstone,in his younger years, played Kevin, Jimmy's rocker pal in
"Quadrophenia" and more recently has been seen in such U.K films as "Face"
and the brutal Gary Oldman directorial debut "Nil By Mouth", though these
days he's looking more like the Brit answer to John Goodman!!
There's also the rather dreadful "Jubilee" with Adam Ant and Toyah Wilcox!
"Rude Boy" is quite good too, even though The Clash's live performances on
it leave something to be desired though the whole London backdrop is cool .
It's inclusion of the Notting Hill riots, National Front actvity, police
brutality (the beating to death of Liddle Towers still fresh in everyone's
mind..)is like a nice little historical time capsule.
There was also a movie I rented ages ago called "Rough Cut And Ready Dubbed"
with, among others, Sham 69 (live, recording in the studio, etc)and The
Purple Hearts being interviewed on Carnaby Street and playing "Millions Like
Us" live.
