Case in point: I'm a closet electronic music fan. I went to see Oakenfold
spin on Thursday and it was amazing. Unfortunately, I don't live in Europe
and don't get to see good DJs all that often. So, I went and almost felt like
I was in London again.

The question isn't "is it mod?", it should be "is the aesthetic modern to
me?"....

Whatever we post on here gets someone's back up, some more than others.
Personally, I find it fascinating to see what people on the scene are
dipping into when they go outside. Case in point...The Matrix is a great
film, and the posts for that went on for months (as we the Brits got it long
after you in the States). I guess there's a fine line between discussing
popular culture, of which the Mod scene is but a part, and getting into
seriously long and boring posts about Anakin Skywalker's inside-leg
measurement, and the like.

If we kept it to MOD only subjects...no-one would know what to do, as
evidenced by the frequent, "Are scooters/shorts/lesbians/Canadians/people
over 25 years old Mod?" posts.

What most of us on the list have in common is a given, let's discuss the
other things we care about, too.
