Case in point: I'm a closet electronic music fan. I went to see Oakenfold spin on Thursday and it was amazing. Unfortunately, I don't live in Europe and don't get to see good DJs all that often. So, I went and almost felt like I was in London again. The question isn't "is it mod?", it should be "is the aesthetic modern to me?".... Personally, I find it fascinating to see what people on the scene are dipping into when they go outside. Case in point...The Matrix is a great film, and the posts for that went on for months (as we the Brits got it long after you in the States). I guess there's a fine line between discussing popular culture, of which the Mod scene is but a part, and getting into seriously long and boring posts about Anakin Skywalker's inside-leg measurement, and the like. If we kept it to MOD only subjects...no-one would know what to do, as evidenced by the frequent, "Are scooters/shorts/lesbians/Canadians/people over 25 years old Mod?" posts. What most of us on the list have in common is a given, let's discuss the other things we care about, too.
