A soundman played that for us in Albany the other night and it sounded quite promising. I really like the Beastie Boys track, actually. He also played us the new Oasis album. This is kind've a funny story. This geezer is a producer (as well as an ace soundguy) and he had an album mastered for Sony at a famous NYC mastering house (OK, Masterdisc) a few months ago. So, last week he got a fed ex package with a CDR marked "Sony America, Feb. 2000 release-mastered version". So, being curious, he put it up and lo and behold, the mastering lab had sent a test copy of the new Oasis record to him by mistake. Almost immediately, he got a call from Fed Ex saying there had been a mistake and that he shouldn't open the package. Of course, he duped like a madman until they got there! Anyway, the album sounded pretty good-same old rubbish that we all enjoy. There was one pointless note for note cover of "Helter Skelter" and 12 other songs that also sounded exactly like the Beatles. God bless their little cotton socks, the boys really stick to their guns. I wonder if someday they'll evolve into a Wings soundalike. Corin
