I really can't get my head round this idea of country mod. Mod-rock I can just about get (it's still dandyesque dress style) but country mod? Maybe it's the cowboy hat thing. And the facial fungus. All I keep thinking of is Neil Young in his poncho in Buffalo Springfield and they definitely weren't mod. Fantastic: yes. Mod: no. Someone also mentioned the picture of Keith Moon in country gentleman gear - isn't this pic from about '74 tho'? BTW, The Country Teasers are playing up this way soon, and apparently they don't sound very country anymore at all due to various line-up changes, tho they do still look very smart, so I shall be delighted to tell their drummer that someone thought he looked mod - his acidic response should be a treat to hear. Even tho' he's been looking like a mod ever since he got rid of the bowl-cut he sported for several years, he really, really would hate the idea of being called a mod.
