Palm Springs is jammed with good things to do. At the risk of revealing
trade secrets, the thrift shopping excels. Great modern furniture shops on
the North end of the main drag. And make time for the palms to pine tramway,
a beautiful cable car ride from an ultra-cool building to a very 60's ski
chalet in the mountains where one drinks hot toddies by the fire.
They are gutting and modernising the place so go now if you aren't scared of
heights.
The Rodeway Inn has a nice tiki motif and there's a load of beautiful modern
architecture - pick up Palm Springs Modern coffee table book, or whatever
it's called before you go, and tour the Lautners. >>
Oh if I only had the time, Im going to be in town for a competition but I
will definitely check out the main drag after Im done...thank you for the
suggestions and wish me luck....
