Ah well, back again, after a delightful absence. . .

B. Beach may not have been on last Friday, but we had a good night out down
at The Wardrobe with Mark from System Records providing the music, and
almost over-helpful barstaff persuading us to sample from the enormous bar -
and to top it all, you could have had the opportunity to dance with Roy
Glover. Only thing really lacking being 'people we know' (there were people
there, and people dancing, but no one recognisable from BB, which isn't
neccesarily a bad thing).

Hamburg was fun too - soul allnighter on Xmas day - though (like Spellbound)
it suffered from being so popular you could not move your feet.

Caine news - next film is Shiner where he plays an aging East End gangster
opposite Martin Landau (something tells me this one got the go ahead
following another script) and he's also currently writing his first novel,
which will apparently be a thriller. The later Palmer films are both set in
post Cold War Russia, where Palmer has moved to sell his services after
being made redundant (following the Cold War). They're entertaining fluff in
a TV movie sort of way - Bullet to Beijing is probably better than Billion
Dollar Brain to be honest.

And finishing on that note, I guess some people Stateside might be
interested to know that the TV spin-off series from Lock, Stock and Two
Smoking Barrels will be premiering this spring over here. .
