The link between northern soul and its (?) descendant 'disco' is curious
--
a connection that I think Northern fans are as enthusiastic about discussing
as the Kennedys are about talking about Chappaquiddick.
Musical-evolutionary aspects of the story aside, it seems that one could do
an easy 'disco' arrangement of a nice up-tempo soul track, like "You Don't
Love Me No More", (M Lance) simply by adding a high-hat cymbal to just
barely anticipate the bass drum beat, deepen the bass line, and maybe some
backing strings, and go easier on the horns.
But let's don't mess up a good thing.
second thread:
As for the www.suits2u.com link, one might wonder if "Enzo Tovare" isn't a
'special' brand -- the Jessica McClintock of menswear?. Tovare is an
unusual name, not readily found among the italian suit mafia. Anyway, if
you've got the courage to buy a $375 suit off the rack(off the Web, really)
more power to you. I'll venture a tie at most.
