About five years back when I discovered Beatle bootlegs some of the ones
that fell into my hands were hidden away on cassettes of other 60s and Brit
stuff. On one of those cassettes was a song that fascinated me upon hearing,
and it's been in the back of my mind since then. I ave no idea who does it
or when it's from but, remembering it today, figured this was as good a
place as any to inquire.
*sounds like later middle sixties. 1967 maybe.
*strong, solid beat. a spector imitation.
*sounds like an English group, almost polished enough to be prefabricated.
*two lead singers- or one conspicuously doubletracked.
Lyrical fragments, from memory:
"My baby, before you change/make your mind, somehting something"
"we could love a long long time" half-spoken
then a seventh chord building on piano for 4 bars
"i want to be there, i want to be there"
*with a electric piano fo some kind (clavioline? mellotron? imitating a
trumpet with a four note theme)
any takers??
thanks.
