I think I've seen this on action too. I was at a Rustic Overtones show (Great band, amazing organist, serious funk) and the opening band was a indie band (for lack of a better description) called Jump Little Children (weird name, good band though) and the other singer, who played accrodion and blues harmonica, did this great spoken word/rhyme type lyrics with a silky smoth delivery.
