OK, laying the insults aside for the moment (at least I am, suit yourself),
by claiming skin I mean that either you call yourself a skin or you don't,
and if you do then you claim skin. Skinheads would never exist without the
mods but skinheads are not mods and everyone who knows anything about either
knows that much. As for me, sure, all I listen to these days is soul, ska,
and oldies, even to the extent of departure from the standard skinhead
retinue. OK, so big deal! I'm not a mod, and being a skinhead pretty much
precludes being a mod as I see it. That was all I was aying in the first
place and I was just trying to figure out how you put the two together and
came up with one thing. It strikes me as rather foreign to both mod and skin
culture.
