Yeah, I don't get it, trying to emulate the culture of the past immediately 
disqualifies you for the term "modernist". If it was really modernist, you 
all would be sitting around talking about the newest of the new indie rock, 
and all driving the Honda Hybrid or some other incredible eco-friendly 
vehicle. Not running around raiding garage sales or worse yet buying 
repro-mod gear (like velociferos). Hell, you might as well run around 
calling yourselves Retro-Mods, at least that isn't confusing, I have noticed 
a real enigma regarding people in these scenes, it's like Non-racist 
skinheads...Fuck just accept the fact that John Q. Public Identifies 
skinheads as Nazis. And find (or better yet,create) a different style. Its 
like Growing your hair long and wearing bell bottoms etc. and then getting 
pissed when someone treats you like a hippie. Looks like a duck, sounds like 
a duck, walks like a duck, must be a mod, but then again, it could be a 
skinhead. Who fuckin' knows anymore.
