I got the first volume of "El Soul Es Una Droga", a Spanish 60s Soul comp.,
some material strictly for laughs, but some other excellent! I especially
enjoyed the title track "El sol es una droga" (The sun is a drug), by Los
Kifers, a cover of "Beggar for your lovin'" by The Explosion. Look forward
to get the second volume before this weekend.
Also, some soundtracks are slowly heading home, "Cactus Flower", by Quincy
Jones - I saw the movie the other day and found the tunes played at the club
scene quite attractive... more info, anybody? Also, "Mary Jane", with Mrs
Miller shrieking the title tune over a garage beat provided by Davie Allan &
The Arrows in disguise.
