OK, this is what I was getting at.

First of all, I don't know any skins who only listen to one or two types of
music, especially not ska and rocksteady, so that was way more than a
generalization. ridiculous. Also, aside from the political types, skinheads
don't tend to define themselves by the type of music they listen to. I'm not
a "punk-and-oldies" skin for instance, I'm just a skinhead.

Second, and this relates directly to the first point, if one can't tell the
difference between a soul mod and a freakbeat mod or whatever, and the only
difference is that they listen to two disparate types of music, what's the
point of the moniker? why not just mod?

Please take your time here, I'm not trying to be antagonistic, I just don't
understand and would like an explanation. I will admit this makes no sense
to me, however I'm not attacking anyone. I'm asuming there's a reason behind
this apparent madness and would like to know what it is.
