Sounds like you may be describing Cheap-O records in
Central Square, Cambridge. Or maybe Mars? (but the
guy who owns mars is nice, the guy at cheap-o can be a jerk).

What about Mystery Train? I know they have a store in Boston, I think it's
actually in Cambridge. Mystery Train has an entire half of the store devoted
to just vinyl..and they have everything from 50's-60's Bluenote/Verve stuff,
Soundtracks, JazzFunk, Soul, Acid Jazz, etc. I've also seen plenty of 60's
Brit Invasion/Garage type stuff.
