And I agree. Probably one of the best "Mod" comps is
the Decca/Polygram one in the Scene series - also 
includes Freakbeat, Psych, Northern (avoid!!) and R&B
etc..
I don't have anything against revival bands really but
they good ones are pretty few and far between.
I still say if I'm gonna listen to one it'll be the
Chords.

Tho back to Moke's point; check out Dr Feelgood,
especially the first 3 records - Down By The Jetty,
Malpractice and  Stupidity.  Raw R&B roots played by a
nasty bunch with as much zeal as you could ever want.
My other recommendation of course is the Gorillas.
Simply put, the Gorillas are the most stylish bunch of
jumpin over the amps, rollin' around the floor, guitar
smashing rockers the world has ever known!
Just have a look at one picture of them and you will
be hooked!
