The majority of inmates on Death Row, are either badly represented in court, due to lack of money for a proper solicitor or because they cannot read/suffer from learning difficulties - or worse still are being used as political scapegoats (12 per cent of US population are black, 80 per cent of the prison population on death row are black, I see a connection there...). The chair is outlawed in most states, but lethal injection is used instead - we could split hairs about the different ways to kill someone, but what's the point. The majority of people related to a victim of a murder, have said following his execution - that it hasn't alleviated their loss.
