With regards what Mr. Moke said about Paul enjoying winding us all up...
I'm not so sure - I think he's seen Quadrophenia once too many times, and has this
burning desire to fit in, hence all these long winded arguments about the merits of
Soul/Northern - instead of admitting to himself that it takes a few years to build up
a good record and clothes collection, he seems to want it all now. When I was 16/17, I
was switched on enough to realise that I wasn't as 'Mod' as some of the older lads and
lasses I saw out at Mod nights or whatever, whereas now (at 22) I am 100% comfortable
with myself as I feel I own enough records/CD's, own enough clothes, own enough books,
have enough awareness and intelligence to realise that I've earned the right to have
opinions, discussions and even arguments with other Mods, who will take me seriously.
Paul - keep quiet, bide your time, get your head down and start learning - come back
to us in 12 months time and THEN tell us about Northern Soul.
