>>In some places, it never went away<<
>In MOST places it didn't, try visiting a construction site...anywhere USA.<
oh...how frightening but oh so true. worst part about the whole thing, imho?
my father, who works as a lineman, just recently traded in his mullet (or in
the summer, a rat tail) for ...some other haircut. i love the man dearly but
eeegod.
>>...worn with irony.<<
>Irony is weak. Honestly, who decided "hesher" is funny...those who became
"punk" as a result of Green Day, then fell in love with the Donnas? Is it
those types who find this...er, (now presumed kitchy?) style funny...I'd
rather see them back at the malls wearing their giant pants and flares
pitchin' gang signs and shooting each other. Morons. <
logically i know i ought to let this go, especially as it's currently 4:30
am, but im not going to. (ha)
first of all im going to assume that the general opinion is that the "hesher"
style is ugly. seeing people wear ugly styles only makes the rest of us look
better. that in itself is a reason to praise the "hesher style". secondly,
the hesher look style is one of those things in life that goes along with
owning a really terrible cheese album, such as ...oh i don't know, the spice
girls. it is bad, admittedly, but why not laugh at it and call it "funny"? i
mean, i could be in the minority here, but silly things are what make life
worth living. when i get too old to stop laughing at people with mullets and
America's newest teen musical group - thats when i die. :)
>>"Heybras"...they greet each other with "Hey, bra" (sort of like bro).<<
oh, and yet again you are describing my father -- only he came back with the
'hey bra" phrase after living in kauai for 2 years. frightening -- although
it explains the lack of my ability to remove "dude" and "like" from my
vocabulary [how i wish had not attended summer camp those few years ago].
amy "the un-mod that ought to shut up" k.
