Not to namedrop, 'cuz it was really just a matter of being in the right place
at the right time-namely a Little Richard concert at the House of Blues in L,
in the little VIP room, I was once in a room with Chrissy Hynde, Johnny Depp,
Leonardo DiCaprio, John Entwistle, Rob Zombie, Richard Pryor, Jeff Lynne and
Gary Glitter at the same time. The first person I wanted to talk to, however,
was Mickey Dolenz. I introduced myself (trying not to look at his hair, which
is truly incredible) and we discussed his performance on "Going Down" for a
good 5 minutes. It was lovely. He seemed genuinely surprised that I was so
into a non hit Monkees song. Jeff Lynne pretended to know me. I didn't
correct him. and Leo and I ended up doing shots. It was a really weird night.
