I hate to say it, as I slowly, deliberately, push myself outta my house,
overwhelmed by pack ratting of LPs, there are few if any...er, stylish ways
for storing the extent of geekdom...you, or someone you know, should build
shelves, you can always paint 'em...of course, the best thing about
shelving is you can store five or six times the amount of LPs vertically
you can horizontally, those crates, um...don't they shred the spines of the
LP sleeves...oh, an unused closet might make for nice storage of any ugly
shelves.

Now, IF you do DIY some shelving, make sure any construct OVER 4 1/2' tall
is well secured to a...er, stud in the wall and, if possible, have your
shelving extend just beyond 12" to keep the center of gravity falling
backwards, for some reason any overhang will pitch the entire unit
forward...for larger (ahem) units make sure the floor is supported...a
couple houses I lived swiftly showed structural flaws once I installed the
"library". And if you live in a basement or an apartment your shelves
raised about four or six inches above the floor, in case of flooding...

For those who've built little "record wagons"...way to go...for ME vast
shelf consideration is without question as I've about a room and a half
dedicated to LP storage! For 45s you can buy those stackable cardboard
boxes made for 45s, but I like the comic book size, fits 45s wide ways then
I slit off the top...holds...300 - 350...sucks to move tho'.
