Well...what kind of Shout it is going to be is unknown...nice to go back into the El Rey though...cool "Shout" gig memories there...for a lot of us. Last time out, Nancy was "icon"-ic so-to-speak...have to respect the effort though. The choice of material and the lack of instincts/chops by the musicians backing her i think lend to NOT help her performance. Getting past the main tunes she's known for and to start rolling out KRTH "staples" from my notice about 4 or 5 out of an appx 13 song set at last Shout gig...well...i dont know. Attitude-wise cant knock her though...obviously voice and looks are naturally a bit-aged...but its cool to go to a gig by a another true 60's icon. I give her some props. I guess her manager Hal Lifson is intro'ing her...Hal does run a cool wknds 60's radio show that everyone in LA should take a listen to when they can ... his Radio A Go-Go is pretty happening for drive-time...in fact he shares some (non-dance) stuff that I have never heard from the 60's that surprises me. At last notice his show was running on Saturdays 7pm-9pm and Sundays 10pm to 1am on KRLA AM 1110. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com _________________________________________________________ Enlighten your in-box. http://www.topica.com/t/15
