Hello to all from the King's Kamp. We've got some cool things coming up to
let you all know about, and one small bit of bad news....so that first.
Our last letter mentioned a show on April 29 (or was it 22?) with the
fabulous Moto-Litas. We found out shortly thereafter that the club had
booked another band that night, so there will be NO King's English show in
April. You can check up on the Moto-Lita's haps at this address:

The next King's English show will be on Friday May 5 at the Star Bar with
The Lizardmen. We've heard murmurings that Washington D.C. power pop group
The Phoebes *MAY* be added to this bill, but we've gotten no official word
on this. So if you see the flyers around town, it might list El Grupo
Mysterioso, or the Baja Marimba Band. No matter though....this is NOT the
King's English show to miss! Unca Phuzz will be joining us, so we'll be at
full strength. El Cinco de Mayo is also Xavier Cougar's birthday. Please,
no tequila shots, but Xavier will be accepting cumpleaos cervezas from
you, our adoring fans :^)
Then, at the end of May, the King's English will be going into the studio
to record some tunes, so you can listen to us in the safety of your own
home! The plan is to record a bunch of songs, not credit the session and
wait for the tunes to appear on a compilation of rare acetates in about 30
years or so as "Unknown". We can't wait!
Finally, please mark May 11 on your Kalendars too, as that is the night
Xavier's twin brother Stanley Moon returns to Dottie's to spin only the
greatest dancefloor jazz, hammond grooves and sixties soul. The door price
is cheap, the PA system is good, the floor is suitable for dancing and the
music is second to none. Check out Stanley's Infra-Red website!

I'll leave you with a quote from our inimitible drummer, Ray Vuppe, from a
recent writing session: "I've drunk myself blind before, but you guys make me
want to drink myself DEAF!"
See you on El Cinco de Mayo!
