Cheers to David and Gordon for recommending the Noonday Underground LP (or
CD, pity it's not on vinyl) - enjoying it right now.

Checked out the unfinished new 'back' (or middle) room at Brighton Beach
last night - should be good once they solve the problem of having people
walking across the dancefloor. Or actually put the dancefloor in. In some
ways miss the privacy of the back room, and hopefully once they open the
back room again as a chill out room, and people get used to the changes,
it'll stop it feeling like you're dancing in the corner of a bar.

Also spotted in Waterstones: the Thames and Hudson 'The 60s - A Decade of
Design Revolution' book is now out in paperback at a more reasonable 20
quid - definitely the best 60s design book in recent years.

They also had the new Taschen '50s/60s/70s Decorative Arts' books for the
same price - picked up the 60s and 70s ones - they're basically picture
books reprinting photospreads from a design magazine of the time, so more
black and white than colour, and as it's reprinted from a magazine a lot of
the colour photos are inferior to similar photos (of same rooms) from other
books, but still nice worthwhile items.

Anyway, my carriage (on the Leeds-Manchester Express) awaits - 'Quick Robin,
to the Hideaway'.
