Nothing's ever simple....trust me.

I know, but my point is, what would strike you about the line up of an
event?

The beat basement has a pretty good regular line up as well I may add...

        >No we didn't!!!!
        >I've said there's loads of hippies down there

That's done it....

        >- but also that I really dig British RnB and freakbeat (even a
little garage)

Don't most of us?

Always found the opposite. But them I suppose being a 'Soulie' rather than
anything else, I know more people up there. There's always a great air up
there though I find.

        >Whenever I'm taunted/laughed at/called a queer it's by that lot....

Then you must be doing SOMETHING wrong. ;) To be taunted at by a 60's crowd!
WOW!

        > (Less pretentious too -

I actually get frightened by the beat basement...

        >some of those soul dancers really like showing off whereas

You'll take to me right away then.... ;)

        >the other crowd can be better dancers but don't get all flashy and

It's all about being a flash cunt though isn't it? You wouldn't be a mod
otherwise.

        >Who cares?!!

I DO!

        >You haven't even MET me - how can you expect to have me
        >'figured out' by my occasional musings on a mailing list?

cause I'm a good judge of character. I've only been wrong once.

        >How do you know all this isn't just a fiction?

I think it is. There. You have to be a construct of somebodys over worked
imagination. You're too cool to be true.

        > After all - I enjoy art and writing and have a great imagination
(so I'm told)

I enjoy music, clothes and boots, and I'm not shallow in the least.

        >PS. A warning.... I can sometimes be just as mysterious in person!

You'll be the one in a cape and luminous paint then will you? Can we unmask
you Scooby Doo style in the middle of the soul loft? Imagine the Scene,

Me (as Shaggy): It's Paul Secular!
Mysterious man in cape: I'd have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you
pesky
Soul Mods............
Roger Banks: This one's a STORMER, It's R'n'B all the way........
(wherein Charles Sheffield's 'It's Your Voodoo
Working' kicks in
and the crowd giggle a la Scooby (the Doo, not the
band, though they
can join in if they want)
Have to go,
       Matt....
