I totally agree. I saw the Pills for the first time last Friday. I was
doing my temporary stint as organ player for Question Mark and the "New"
Mysterians at Acme Underground in NYC. The Pills opened the show, and they
blew me away. I'm sure lots of people who see them will make the requisite
Who/Faces/Creation/Move comparisons, but they add a really nice bit of
garage/punk to the mix. They invited me to do an impromptu rendition of
"Psychotic Reaction" with them; not many "mod" bands would do that tune, I
don't think.
Anyhoo, I invited them to play a show in Philly sometime w/ my band, Mondo
Topless, and maybe trade a gig up in Boston as well. I wholeheartedly
recommend them....
