Save you the time of asking, why should he reform The Jam, it`s over and
done with. Songs about youth angst don`t sit well coming from a guy in
his 40`s. The albums don`t really sell that well, many of the reissues
tend to show up in sales a lot. They tick over, nothing more. Solo stuff
sells bucketloads more.
Maybe you should ask him about the Inciters (whoever the bloody Hell
they are). Is it now a condition to mention them in every Modslist
email? Just in case it is, thought I`d better mention them.

sucks? Oh yeah, and what was up with all the homo-eroticism type stuff
with Mick Talbot? (See: cover of "Our Favorite Shop"....etc...)"
Some might say that the majority of his best work is post early 80`s.
It`s a very fashionable thing to knock the Style Council, but some of
Weller`s best songs were written in that period. Some of the material
was poor, but at least he made the effort to attempt something different
rather than plough the same old furrow for years on end. And by killing
the Jam when he did retained all that was good about The Jam for the
future.
Additionally, some of the solo material is excellent, not least the
latest album. It`s not classic, but better than a lot of the material
littering the shelves these days.
Oh the joys of the Modslist Weller arguments. It just never gets
tiresome does it ? Parkas anyone ?
