Hello,

the potential to become the biggest band in the world - and deserve it."

Oh yes, the potential....
...in the red corner, weighing in very light, we have Matt Deighton. A
man whose career can be surmised as:
Mother Earth, the rockier side of Acid Jazz. Got attention by having
Weller do backing vocals on their early stuff, made one reasonable
album, then turned into a mid 70`s American stadium rock act, complete
with hair and moustaches, but sadly not the stadiums. They split and
Matt became....
Matt Deighton. Erstwhile folk singer and modern day Nick Drake type. Got
dropped. Matt then joined Paul Weller with a spin round the country
performing the rockier guitar bits of "Heavy Soul". As Weller decided to
go less rocky, he booted our Matt out. Matt then went on the dole, got
his hair cut for interviews and even (apparently) tried to sell his
guitars. Luckily for Matt, Oasis needed a guitarist, and for obvious
reasons, a Weller related one. With Noel out the picture, and Steve
(Fanny) Craddock the current incumbent in the Weller sidekick role, Matt
was the only option. I give you.....Matt Deighton.

In the blue corner, weighing in even lighter, we have Andy Bell. Good
early track record with Ride, but steady decline since then. Split Ride
to form Hurricane #1, who then recorded an album of Ride doing Oasis.
Obviously worked, because after more pitiful releases, he left his new
band to fill the vacant "standing in the background playing guitar"
position.

Oh the potential....

I still don`t understand the point about Oasis deserving a position of
biggest band in world. Why ?

"Am i the only one who realises that although he once showed some
musical and songwriting talent, Noel Gallagher has sadly run out of
ideas."

He stopped using his best idea - plagiarism, under the illusion that he
was some kind of musical genius.

"If Oasis are even going to bother continuing as a band then they need
to start with fresh ideas and a complete new line up (i.e: no more
gallaghers)."

Why call them Oasis then ? With no more Gallaghers, that means no
original members ?? Personally I`d like to see the most talented
Gallagher, Paul, "largin` it" onstage. That would be worth paying to
see.

"Noel and Liam may have made Oasis, but they shouldn't be the ones to
finish it."

And on that note, we agree and finish.
