Hello,
Indeed, as stated previously, it`s been like this for years, but has got
a lot worse in the last year. Perhaps the understanding that people come
from all over the place was forgotten, as was the understanding that
what one person classed as "Mod", was not thought of by others in the
same way.
Then came a kind of "oneupmanship" in who could be most cutting, most
witty, most aggressive or even the most "ott". That took over the list
and you get what you`ve got right now. Basically, you join, you speak,
and your easy prey for so many (and I`m not pleading innocence in this,
like many others).
Ever wondered why there are a number of "offshoot" lists (Bespoke,
Northern Mods, Shindig etc) ? Basically, because a number of people got
pretty sick of it all and started lists that were:
1. More civilised.
2. Of more interest to them and more relevant to their lifestyles.
3. Generally populated by people who wouldn`t tolerate the nonsense we
see day after day.
A lot of people are probably still on here "lurking", and a good few
stay on for the "tragi-comic" entertainment of it all. But really, if
you ever want Modslist to go back to being Modslist (as was), perhaps
stopping, counting to 10 and considering what you post might be the best
solution.
Yes, there may well be some worthwhile stuff on here still, but
probably, like me, you miss it as it`s mixed up with the mass of dross.
There......I`ve said it !
