In reply to Julian's mail - I think its interesting you used the phrase 'issues dealt
with' rather than dealing with, as here lies the crux of the problem; all those topics
you mentioned were, I agree, excellent threads and points of discussion, however, if
anyone 'dare' hark back to one of these they are instantly shot down for covering 'old
ground' and raising worn-out arguments. The other side of the coin is to raise new
topics to discuss.....fine, but where are they? This has probably been the most
interesting thread in months! And doesnt it tell you something that we are all trying
to justify ourselves being here?

Apart from yourself and David W., how many of the old faces (no pun intended) actually
still post, or are even still subscribed to the list? Hardly any - why is this? Well I
would argue that you can only take so many sarcastic one-line e-mails from
I'm-not-a-Mod-but-I'll-post-anyway types or US Mods...and I'm not getting at our Mod
counterparts over the water, but its sometimes hard to relate to people who are x
hundred miles away from you. Most of the old brigade went off and formed or joined
lists that are more relative to themselves (we did the same with the Northern
list).....I don't mind reading mails on here about a soul do in San Francisco, but I'm
not so keen if its going to be the only mail of any interest! And even if things get a
little heated, its easier to take a verbal beating from a Mod in Barnsley than it is
from a Mod in Los Angeles!

I'm not getting at any individuals on this list, but its a fact that a few months ago
a whole host of people unsubscribed and joined other mailing lists, and I don't see
too many of them coming back.

Cheers, David.
