Here's my version of the weekend...It was good to see all of the local
Chicago crowd and to meet all those from out of town!

After being greeted at the airport and quickly stopping off to change, we then headed
straight for the friday night do where I was able to match some new faces to names and
catch up with old friends and acquaintances as the place filled up with regular
Chicago scensters and quite a few listers from far flung locales. The djs Barry James,
Benjamin Pirani, and Brian Poust did excellent sets and kept the dance floor full
while Jason 'gettin down' Downs took care of the talc (and even went off to buy more
in order to keep the floor adequately covered through the night!) When the club had to
close up and everyone was reluctantly made to leave, many of us went off to form a
party where things kept going well into the wee hours of the morning
-complete with an impromptu psychedelic jam and dancing antics courtesy of James
Holden... very entertaining for those of us content to sit around and sip cocktails!
(and don't worry, pictures to follow...)

Weary and disheveled, Saturday started late with a long breakfast and several cups of
coffee. Finally feeling in good form, some of us headed off to the lake shore and for
drinks on the 96th floor of the John Hancock building with its fantastic view of
downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan. For dinner it was Indian and then before we knew
it, time to fgo get ready for night #2 (or for those who started the weekend on
Thursday, #3!) I cleverly armored myself in my orange and white plastic dress -which I
luckily wore since there were one or two drinks that night which strayed from their
glasses!

This evening's events were to be held at a spacious art gallery, featuring bands, djs,
and dresses by yours truly! Arriving early, Jason Tinkey, Estelle, and myself set out
towards the shop accross the street to stock the bar. After successfully derering
Jason from buying strange unknown brands of beer, we returned to the gallery to
establish the 'VIP lounge' -a small loft/balcony overlooking the main room. Soon it
was full with absoultely everyone we knew. With all in fine form and smartly dressed,
we amused ourselves for nearly an hour of picture taking and cocktail making.
Eventually we joined the large crowd that had formed in the main room.
Things went on at full pace well into the night (which included insane acrobatic
dancing by some -brought on by the excellent soul music) And only after the crowd was
completely spent and our St. Paul lads quit rolling around on the floor did everyone
head back to their respective homes and hotels, and for some, awaiting parties.

Sunday morning included another leisurely breakfast (with people from four different
states in attendance, all old modslisters funnily enough) and then a mad race to the
airport with decisive plans of returning home to catch up on the weekend's lost sleep!
