<< Hello everyone....this is cornelius, in case i need to re-introduce

I just wanted to say for a moment that i love Napster. I spent a quality six
hours today downloading close to 300 songs.....I've now got a collection of
northern that makes me so very proud. No, it's not on the original 45's, no
i didn't have to scour record shops for it -- but damn it sure sounds good.
I might also add that Napster's got some good Skrewdriver songs... (hehehe
-- is anyone gonna take the bait??) Honestly though -- if you haven't tried
it yet - please do yourself a favor and check it out.....And by the way --
is ANYONE here in Boston?? Are you going to the scooter show? >>
Well, if you go to Vinny's show on Thursday, you'll hear a really great band
from Montreal called the Datsons. You'll groove on their neo-revivalist
sound, their well written tunes and the bass players' suit. You'll think to
yourself "Wow, that's impressive that a band from Montreal would quit their
day jobs to spend a whole month in a van with all their gear-living on cheese
sandwiches and getting paid about a $100 a show. Especially with gas prices
as high as they are, and sleeping on someone's floor every night because they
can't afford a hotel. They must really believe in what they're doing to trash
their lives like this to come play for me and my friends. And you'll think,
man, they must really miss their girlfriends and families, and there must be
an easier way to become impoverished-maybe I should buy their album. That
would be an extra $10 in their pocket. They'd owe half of it to their label,
but maybe tonight they could get a pizza or something. And then you'd think,
Oh, fuck them, I'm gonna go steal their record from Napster. Who cares if the
musician's don't get paid? Fuck 'em. It's not about the musicians, anyway, is
it? I'm not going to actually pay for music, am I? Music doesn't have any
value, right? It's like a bumper sticker, or a keychain that someone gives
you for free. I'll just download a bunch of stuff, and then I can be a mod if
I want. And if I get sick of it, I'll just delete it all and be something
else.
slightly bitter (and not getting paid)

And PS, if you have all that Northern Soul as MP3 files, not on vinyl that
you worked hard to find, then you don't really have it anyway.
