ABOUT TONIGHT'S ACTS

THE SOLAR FLARES comprise members of several well-know bands from the famed
Medway scene. With this group they make a return to the Prisoners/Prime
Movers sound of old - a raw and powerful blend of the Small Faces, the Who
and Hendrix. Their debut album, Psychedelic Tantrum, was released late last
year by Twist Records and its explosive psychedelic guitar playing, backed
by a driving beat and full-on drumming received excellent reviews. Around
the same time an EP was released by Damaged Goods, recorded "Live at the
Dirty Water Club" on the same bill as Thee Headcoats and featuring one
track by them also. Earlier this year, "Can't Get You Out of My Mind", an
outstanding single, was released by Twist on both vinyl and CD. This is
just a taster for their new album which is due for release on 30 October.
Titled "That Was Then... This Is Now", advance promotion copies are causing
a flurry of excitement far and wide. The Solar Flares are one of the
hottest, most happening bands around! You won't be disappointed.

THE EMBROOKS have been hailed by many as the spearhead of a new revival of
mod music. Described in reviews as 'a three-way incandescent bulb under a
multi-coloured glass mosaic shade' and as 'the hottest trio the UK has seen
since Middle Earth', their new album "Our New Day" (Voxx) is colouring the
airwaves with their blend of mod-psych, freakbeat and pop-art. This ain't
no '79 parkas'n'targets bollocks, this is pure '67 noise'n'flash!

NEIL'S CHILDREN are a young three-piece from the west of London who are hot
on the heels of the above two bands in grabbing the title of 'the grooviest
mod group in the UK'. They take their sounds from the best, classic period
of sixties mod-pop, from the Small Faces to the Creation and the Attack.
These boys have what it takes! Look out for forthcoming releases on Detour
Records.
