That is WAY too broad of a question...and the asshole side of me would say
"quit listening to the fucking Smiths!".....but for some real advice without too
much typing involved from me, I think the Northern Mods (as in UK) website
(modculture.com) has a page of basic "what every mod should own" kinda
stuff as determined by a poll or something. I don't know. But it would be a good
starting point for you. Then you can find your own tangents and interests to branch
off from there. Oh yeah, and if you don't have it already, get the book "Mods!"
by Richard Barnes (try Amazon.com)....there will be MANY musical names
dropped in there for you to investigate.
