How about the Playmates? Maybe not mod in the strickest sense... more beat
but surelly a cool garage band. I know their first cd was released in the
US on Popllama recs which you can access through the Rockboss recs site
(www.rockboss.com). They should have some mp3's or wav's so you can sample
them.
