Terry Rawlings: Mod - A Very British Phenomenon (Clean Living Under
Difficult Circumstances) published by Omnibus Press
(www.omnibuspress.com, but probably easier to check amazon). One man's
view of mod, from the early origins to the 79 mod revival, acid jazz and
Britpop. Warning: this book contains pics of The Truth... Interviews,
repros of ads, original interviews (including the 1962 Town feature),
photos, interview snippets with original mods, fans and promoters.
New music - listening to Broadcast, Clinic, The Delgados, The Thanes,
Elliott Smith, Nectarine No 9, but in all honesty like Dan I'd much
rather dig backwards as there's just so much stuff in the back
catalogues, whether ignored, dismissed, overlooked or swept aside by
bigger things, northern soul in particular. If you love music enough you
make the effort to dig underneath the mainstream fodder, imo...
btw, hello, some of you might know me from other lists and remember me
from here long ago. Somehow I've ended up back here - it was just too
easy...
