that whole working class/skinhead shit is a myth man... they were all KIDS
who lived off their PARENTS.
why aspire to be working class anyway? if you're working class by choice
and not chance (or reason), you are the very same which society looks down
upon.
as far as the whole 'being from britain' thing; it is easy to get pussy,
yes. just because some dysfunctional girls (or guys) think you're british
because the way you dress/carry yourself, and offer you some entertainment
(in a rather colloquial way), it does not mean that you are british.... I've
been to england too... there are pleasant things, yes... but you will not
enjoy your lifestyle there as you do here (even being a 'starving college
student,' i can earnestly assure you)... as much as i am overtaken with
certain culture from england, specifically the factor of music; i could be
considered an anglophile although i do not categorize myself as such;
foreign cultures are generally ovetaken by their fondness of american
culture... and that means capitalism as well.... as much as americans hate
america, others seem to enjoy it and long for it... we may be dysfunctional,
but all that dysfunctionality works in great ways as far as the market and
certain social cultrual aspects are concerned

I'm asked by different people that I meet on at least a semi regular basis
if I'm from the UK. I often find people quite surpised when they discover I
was born and have lived in the states. Yes, I know it's much more difficult
to fool the English with their own accent, but I imagiine after living in
the country for five or ten years, I will blend in well enough.
Why brit flag breifs? Because it's a novelty! Yes, I have been to the UK
and I find it quite charming. The English economy IS a sort of democratic
socialism (high duties, helthcare provided, etc.). It's not perfect
Marxism, but it's a bit nicer then what we have here in the states. England
has a wounderful leftist movement including the working class peoples who
helped form the mods.
