For those of you who care 'Chocolate Soup For Diabetics' Volumes 1-3
have been reissued...FINALLY!!! These records are chock full of psych
freakout classics like the Fresh Windows "Fashion Conscience", the Game
"Help Me Mummy's Gone", Dantalion's Chariot (Zoot Money) "Madman Running
Through The Fields", Wimple Winch "Save My Soul" and the Factory "Path
Through The Forest"...and that's just scraping the surface. I know a
lot of these tracks have shown up elsewhere with many ending up on
various Rubble comps, although many still haven't seen the light since
these volumes were issued in 1980! Bay Area residents be careful where
you purchase yours because I went to both Rasputin and Ameoba, which are
a block apart from each other, and Rasputin was selling them for $19.98,
while Ameoba was selling them for only $10.98 and at that price these
are worth every penny!!!
Also found a limited to 500 comp titled 'It's Happening' featuring
tracks by Brother Jack McDuff, Oscar Brown Jr., Georgie Fame, and
Jacques Dutronc!!! Had most of it and oddly enough I had just purchased
the Jack McDuff LP with "Wade In The Water" which is his featured song
on the LP! To top it all off, found an original Trojan issue of 'This
Is Desmond Dekker' (spelled Dekkar on the cover) from 1969! Not a bad
night for record shopping!
