In general, I hate to reply to anything on this list whatsoever. I have
to admit that my life is mundane enough to simply read this focker.
BUT...
I've been in Chicago for 2 years, Ben has been here his whole life, as
well as Jason and Margaux and Aret...none of us know this "dude". I've
never even heard of his crap band. Never even seen him at the clubs. A
bit old to go mod, eh?
Indie rock reigns supreme here...and everywhere you go, there they are.
Chances are there's one sitting next to you on the bus. They are worse
than hippies, flooding our dance floors with drunken "woohoos" and
"Dude, can you play "Lust For Life"! That song rocks!". It's sad, yet,
other cities are just as bad.
Hell, I'd rather be around people who are indie rock, who are open
minded, intelligent, albeit bad dressers, who respect and enjoy "mod" or
brit indie or whatever music "we" play, over some ridiculously overtly
mod kids I've seen in Toronto, Boston, London, New York. Standing
around looking like a bored wanker is not nor never will be mod. Go
complain to someone else if you hate the music. Move to another city if
you hate the people. Find something else to be into where you can
actually go out, be young and ENJOY LIFE. If it sucks so bad, what the
fuck are you doing it for?
In any case, this has nothing to do with anything, other than I find it
terribly funny how every new person who joins fraudslist, asks the same
questions:
1. What does mod mean to you?
2. I'm going to be in London, where should I go?
3. How do I unsubscribe?
Ahhh, modlist, you are my best friend, next to beer and the internet.
Ta,
miss misa
PS - Paul, just be happy you don't know the inside jokes yet. There are
a plethora. It doesn't mean you aren't cool, it just is a testament to
this list's lack of content.
Have a laugh at everyone's expense, that's the best part.
