Even though I live in Chicago, I'm not from Chicago.
I'm from New Orleans, so I'd probably pronounce clerk
"cloirk". So if you wanna call me thick Deep South
half-Cajun half-Dago "rubbish", wellllllllll - you'd
be wrong (again).
I don't live with my parents and haven't for a very
long time, probably since before you were born. And
you never really know when you're middle-aged until
you die - then divide by two - which is what you
oughta do.
I can't really be called a hick because I've always
lived in cities in which the population was at least
500,000. That's CITIES, not suburbs, which is where
you're probably reading this in your 'mum' & dad's
tract house, wishing you were Marianne Faithfull
having a Mars Bar eaten outta your wazoo.
"Bright, talented and charming?" That's me! I'm not
sad or boring - I'm happy and exciting! And I don't
have "bad grammar" - I have "innovative grammar",
Grandma!
