For anyone in or near T.O. this weekend,
there's a pretty cool blues concert series going on
down @ the waterfront. I'm personally looking
forward to the Muddy Waters Film from 1971.
Blues and BBQ festival this weekend at the Harbourfront, Fri-Sat-Sun.
********************************************************************************************************************
All the acts are free on Saturday. The music starts around 2pm Saturday
afternoon, and goes till
about 11pm. The line up includes Susie Arioli Swing Band, Michael Pickett, Paul James, Harry Manx ( who plays a 20 string Indian Slide guitar), Henry Gray and the Cats ( played piano for Howlin Wolf) There are music workshops, various
blues performers
on 3 different stages and a couple of movies as part of the "REELY
THE BLUES"
Film series to be shown at the theatre, The only complete Muddy Waters show
available on film. Shot in
a concert setting on the West Coast in front of a largely white audience, with an all star band show time 5pm. GET there early if you want to see John Lee Hooker and friends:
rare performances
1984-1992 Showtime 7pm.
Cheers!
