This looks extremely similar to DBIx::Sequence.
You're the second one to say that. That's a clear indication that I should 
stress that it is in fact extremely similar to File::CounterFile.
I suggest updating your SEE ALSO section to mention this module,
and list the key differences there. 
I will do that.
The key difference is that my module allows decrementing counters, which means 
it's not generating sequences.
Its intended usage isn't limited to database applications either. It simply 
helps with counting things, just like File::CounterFile.
